Even with her mask on, Restaurant student Katna has an infectious smile that reaches all the way to her eyes. She prefers rice to noodles and dancing makes her very happy.
As a student at Sala Bai, she hopes to one day support her family with a job at one of the hotels or restaurants in Siem Reap.
A non-profit school, Sala Bai fights poverty and human trafficking by providing free vocational training and employment in hospitality to young adults from the poorest area of Cambodia. Covid-19 has left Sala Bai graduates unemployed and the families who depend on them without income.
